Neighborhood co-operation is a method for making residential areas less attractive for criminal activities through increased attention from residents in the area and knowledge of how to protect themselves, which discourages and complicates the thief.
The app from SSF Stöldskyddsföreningen is there to facilitate neighborhood co-operation. It spreads knowledge of neighborly collaboration and simplifies communication. The app simplifies for already established groups and provides information to interested parties on how to start neighboring collaboration in new area. The App gives current advice on how to best protect yourself, their home and valuables. Police officers can easily order materials, access films and brochures, get tips and communicate information to their neighboring areas of cooperation.
The app is developed with the support of the stakeholders in Collaboration against Crime (SAMBO), which is an organization consisting of the Police, the insurance companies Folksam, Länsförsäkringar, If, Trygg Hansa, Modern Insurances, ICA Försäkring, SSF Stöldskyddsföreningen, the Crime Prevention Council (Brå), the Swedish Municipalities and County councils (SKL), the tenant association, Riksbyggen and the Villa owners, who all work to create a safer accommodation.
