With the free LuisterBieb you can download a large number of audiobooks from the Public Library. Anyone who is a member of the Library will have access to many more titles.
With the ListenBieb you get access to a large selection of audiobooks in all genres: from tension to literary and from radio plays to lectures. There are also many audiobooks for children in various age categories.
The LuisterBieb has a special offer for high school students who have to read / listen for their list.
The ListenBieb is a free app for anyone who loves audiobooks or wants to try one. To download the titles you need a good wifi connection, to listen you do not need an internet connection anymore. Starting with release 2.2.0, downloading via 3G / 4G mobile data is also supported. Both people with and without a library membership can use this app. You can see which audio books you can listen to at the top right corner of the corner:
• A title with a gray label is a title free for everyone to listen to.
• A title with an orange label is a premium title: can only be listened to by people with a valid membership of a library. By linking the membership in the app you can listen to all audiobooks. Premium listening books can be borrowed for 3 weeks and can then be renewed. Library members can borrow up to 10 premium titles, but they can 'surrender' a premium title earlier.
• A white or promotional label: is a premium title that can be listened to for free for a short period of time.
The LuisterBieb app has the following functions:
• Library with book covers, information about the books and fragments to listen to.
• Search and filter function
• Forward / backward fine-meshed and coarse-meshed
• Scroll through chapters
• Sleep timer
• Variable playback speed (from Android 6.0)
• Share with Facebook, Twitter, SMS and e-mail
• Giving an assessment by giving 'stars'
• Placing bookmarks
Searching and finding: The application always starts from the Library. Here you will find the available audio books subdivided into fiction / non-fiction and in different genres. You can search the titles that you find interesting, listen to a listening fragment and download the audio book via the search screen or filter.
Downloading and eavesdropping: You need a Wi-Fi or 3G / 4G connection to download the content. No internet connection is required for eavesdropping.
The player: with the player you listen to the audio book, you can accelerate ahead, view the chapters and go directly to another chapter. You can of course also adjust the volume. Furthermore, you can rewind coarsely forwards and backwards but also for 30 seconds. You set a maximum playing time via the Sleep Timer.
