My eDrive

My eDrive allows you to "virtually test drive" any electric vehicle on your smartphone to see if it really fits your needs. My eDrive calculates for your personal usage pattern not only the range, but also the CO₂ reduction compared to your previous vehicle. The app also shows you the current battery status and a forecast of the remaining range for your selected test vehicle during the journey. If the battery level reaches a critical value, charging stations in your vicinity can be shown on request (only for Germany).

After entering your annual car kilometres and your average consumption, the app calculates your CO₂ reduction potential with various electric vehicles. To "virtually test drive" one of these vehicles, you need a user account with My eDrive, which you can create directly by entering your email address and your desired password within the app.

The app was developed by the Heidelberg Institute for Energy and Environmental Research (ifeu) and the German automotive club ADAC in close cooperation. ifeu is responsible for the realization of the app and the calculation methodology, ADAC provides extensive measurement data from the well-known EcoTest procedure. The project was funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment within the program "Erneuerbar mobil". The platform LEMnet.org of LEMnet Europe e.V. kindly provides us with its data for the display of charging stations during the virtual test drive.
