When staying in public spaces, many teenagers feel unsafe, whether they’re alone or with family and friends. There is an inevitable fear that teenagers feel when going outside to public places, and it is present all around the globe. Given these circumstances in public areas, time and convenience is every so often sacrificed to ensure comfort and safety in getting to your destination. We presume that more than once, you’ve wished you could travel the safest route home.

With Safebuddy, you can select and travel this exact route in just a few taps. Our interactive global map is plotted with many reports of sexual harassment that will continue to multiply in real time. These anonymous reports include the time it happened and the descriptions of the sexual harassment. It is all pinpointed onto the exact location it happened for any Safebuddy user to see.
If and when you do get sexually harassed, you can call for help immediately using our SOS button that quickly activates when you shake your phone. It will connect you to authorities in the country you are currently residing in. This means that Safebuddy is accessible and convenient whether you are staying in your local area or traveling overseas.

Whether you use the SOS button or don’t, any Safebuddy user is able to report the sexual harassment they faced, and it will be added to the interactive global app. Simply select your location on our map, tap “report Now”. Then you will set your location, time, age and sex, and input the type of sexual harassment you faced. There is an optional section for additional information and description on the incident.

The reality of a victim having been sexually harassed cannot be changed. However, by reporting your experience to Safebuddy, you will be able to prevent a sexual harassment case for fellow Safebuddy users, and feel more comfortable yourself when you go out into public spaces.
