Castle of Shadows is a two-dimensional platform-based action role-playing game that pits you against unending hordes of enemies along a series of levels set in a cursed castle.
The game will no doubt remind you of the Castlevania Saga, since you'll play by advancing through different levels in 2D, killing enemies and gaining experience, upping your level, finding new weapons, using magic and special skills, etc.
You'll face off against dozens of different enemies along your adventure, as well as some big final bosses that will do their best to make your life difficult.
Graphically, the game may again remind you of Castlevania (especially the games for Gameboy Advance), with some pixels that practically seem to have been lifted from the games themselves.
Castle of Shadows is a really entertaining game that only falls flat because of a somewhat clumsy control system. Still, it's enjoyable for many hours of gameplay full of frenetic action.
