The influence of this work is undoubtedly visible in Mikhail Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita. The novel was translated into Russian at the end of the 19th century by Yulia Denisovna Zasetskaya, the daughter of the poet and hero of the Patriotic War of 1812 Denis Davydov. The novel "Ben-Hur" has been filmed several times, most recently in 2010.
