REQUIREMENTS OF COURSES
AcaNet allows you to select a faculty you will love to venture into then provides you
with several courses that mould that faculty. From that point you can then select a
course you desire to do, giving you all the minimum requirements of your selected
course of different universities. These requirements include the APS and the levels
of required subjects. These subjects range from Mathematics, Mathematical
Literacy, English, Home Language, Physical Science, Life Science, Geography,
Accounting, Economics, Business Studies and Tourism. Links to apply to universities
are provided should you qualify and wish to apply at a particular university.

ADMISSION POINT SCORE (APS)
The app offers instructions and provides demonstrations on how to calculate APS to
learners who are not familiar with the calculation of APS.

NOTEPAD
The most exciting element about AcaNet is that it has a notepad where you can save
all the crucial information such as login details of your NSFAS account or your new
student number obtained at the university. The notepad is safe because it allows you
to create a password that will allow you to have access to crucial information you
saved. Every time you go to the notepad you will have to login with your username
and password. In the notepad there are motivational quotes that will keep you motivated throughout your journey of applying to higher institutions. Lastly the
notepad has a browser which allows you to search academic related materials.

COLLEGES
AcaNet gives users in depth knowledge about public and private colleges in terms of
the duration, funding as well as the courses offered. Users will get to explore various
public colleges available in the 9 provinces of South Africa. When the user is
interested in studying in a particular college they will have to use a link to access the
college’s website to apply. With private colleges users will select a course they
desire to do from the listed courses, then users will discover the private colleges that
offer the selected course. Thereafter users will use the link provided to access the
college’s website to apply. Information such as opening and closing dates of colleges
will be found in the colleges’ websites.
FINANCIAL AID

AcaNet gives users in depth knowledge about financial aids available in South
Africa. This knowledge include the required documents when applying for funding to
finance your tertiary needs. Users can explore government, company bursaries and
study loans readily available to help students. Links of bursaries and study loans are
provided should a user wish to apply.

LEARNERSHIPS
AcaNet grants users an opportunity to explore all the sectors in South Africa that
annually advertises learnerships and internships to offer the unemployed youth of
South Africa. The Sectors names along with their website links are provided for
users to access in order to stay updated with the release dates of learnerships and
internships.
