App Description
The objective of the VirtualTachometer is to measure linear and angular velocity without the need for a physical tachometer.
The speed calculation is done based on time. Taking a video of the movement and pointing out the desired range, we can obtain the value of time, either for a defined linear distance or a turn.
Recommendations:
- Record the video Horizontally.
- Record the video with the value of “Frames Per Second” (FPS) as high as possible.
- DO NOT record the video with the Slow-Motion function.
- Using short videos (example 5 seconds) will simplify the search for the initial and final value.
Maximum measurable speeds:
With 90 FPS you can measure maximum 5400 RPMS
With 60 FPS you can measure maximum 3600 RPMS
With 30 FPS you can measure maximum 1800 RPMS
