App Description
MatchTrial is the mobile app to help oncology and haematology patients find the clinical trial that best matches their cancer diagnosis, adapted to their medical needs.

MatchTrial offers a database with all oncology clinical trials in Spain, so that you can access information on these advances in medicine and health.

WHY TRUST MATCHTRIAL TO FIND AN ONCOLOGY TRIAL FOR YOU?
Our mission is to bring medical-scientific research closer to patients, so that they become an active patient and actively participate in making decisions about their treatment and diagnosis.

The MatchTrial app shows all the oncology and haematology clinical trials currently under investigation in Spain.

ADVANTAGES FOR CANCER PATIENTS AND FAMILY MEMBERS
MatchTrial has several advantages to easily refer the patient to the most appropriate trial:

- Updated database with all clinical trials in interventional phase in Spain.
- Consultation of trial objectives, inclusion and exclusion criteria.
- Possibility of sharing trial information through the app.
- Management of the trial process through the app.

WHAT IS THE PROCESS TO PARTICIPATE IN AN ONCOLOGY OR HAEMATOLOGY CLINICAL TRIAL?
Once the patient has entered their diagnosis, the application will show those trials with the highest affinity percentage. The user will be able to select the trial that best suits him/her based on its location or other criteria that he/she considers relevant. In the case of patients or relatives, they can consult with their usual specialist doctor.

The patient must register and answer a questionnaire about their diagnosis, the stage they are in and other personal data. A list of potential oncology and haematology treatments and experimental trials in oncology medicine will then appear, according to the information provided.

Once the patient has chosen an experimental cancer medicine trial that best fits him or her, three options are offered to the patient for a date to visit the chosen centre. After the first visit, the specialist physician will decide whether or not the patient is eligible for the oncology or haematology trial and thus obtain his or her diagnosis.

*The patient can refuse to participate in a trial, even if the trial has already been accepted by the centre and the oncology specialist.

HOW CAN CLINICAL TRIALS BE FILTERED IN MATCHTRIAL?
To facilitate the selection of a suitable clinical trial for the patient, we offer different levels of filtering on the variables to be considered when applying to one cancer clinical trial or another.

- City: The user can select the city or cities in which there are sites to access the cancer clinical trial.
- Hospital: The user can select the hospitals in Spain where the patient wants to participate in a cancer clinical trial.
- Sponsor: The filter allows the user to see the clinical trials available from a specific sponsor.
- Sort by: The results can be sorted by proximity or by the last update date of the trial.
- Distance: The user can select the maximum distance they are willing to travel for the clinical trial based on the location they select.
MatchTrial is matching a clinical trial compatible with a diagnosis of a cancer patient within minutes and is addressed to patients and their families.
