The Internet Archive (http://archive.org) is an online library, holding thousands of items of public-domain content, including movies, music, books and television, all free to download and enjoy.

Archivist is your mobile gateway to this database. It requires an active Internet connection.

Archivist lets you easily search for and download free books, free movies, free music and free audio books, or anything else in the database to your mobile device.

- Search for books & documents, video, audio, images, or blanket search for everything.
- Sort results by relevance, downloads, date, or public rating from archive.org.
- Stream audio and video. Play free concert or watch free cartoons from your mobile device!
- Truncated file list to access the most popular formats.

Downloaded items are saved to an 'Archivist' folder in the root directory of your device, or are accessible through the Download Manager.

Because Archivist is a search-and-browse app, it accesses public domain and user-generated content. I cannot guarantee that all the public domain and user-generated content from archive.org conforms to the ratings, licenses, and copyright standards applied to the app itself.

This is a hobby/occasional project. It iterates slowly. Because of this, support is intermittent and debugging is ongoing. Aside from other minor bugs, there is a major known bug where OpenLibrary items display in search results as being available for download as an eBook. Archivist does not interface with OpenLibrary, so these downloads are restricted and will download null files. The new version will correct this.
