App Description
The Pentateuch of Moses (Hebrew חֲמִשָּׁה חֻמְשֵׁי תּוֹרָה - Hamish of Humus Thor or Hebrew חֻמָּשׁ - Humash), the so-called Mosaic Law, is the first five books of the canonical Jewish and Christian Bible: Brayishit (Genesis), Shmot (Exodus), Vaikra (Leviticus ), Bemidbar (Numbers) and Devarim (Deuteronomy). The Pentateuch forms the first part of the Jewish Tanakh - Torah. The word "Pentateuch" represents a literal translation from the Greek - πεντάτευχος from πεντε - "five" and τευχος - "volume of the book".
Genesis narrates about the Creation of the World and the formation of Jews as a family;
• The Book of Exodus has a prologue and epilogue that separates it from other books and tells of the Exodus from Egypt, the Giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai and the construction of the Tabernacle - that is, the design of the sons of Israel as a Jewish people;
• The book of Leviticus is dedicated, in the main, to priestly legislation and the temple service;
• The Book of Numbers narrates about the wanderings of Jews in the desert after the Exodus from Egypt;
• Deuteronomy is the dying speech of Moses, in which he repeats the contents of other books.
