TaxiMonitor

TaxiMonitor is a taximeter (also known as "Maria" in Costa Rica) emulator app. With this app you can comfortably use cabs knowing that technology is on your side and allows you to know an estimate of how much the taxi should charge you.
TaxiMonitor features high accuracy location by using your device's GPS as well as cell network-provided location. During your travel, the app takes into account the speed at which you move in order to correctly calculate the fee.
You can always know where you are by watching your trip on a map. Your travel will be stored on the app so you can watch a repetition when you want and use it on future trips to tell the driver your preferred route.
Additionally, TaxiMonitor supports all ARESEP published taxi fares for red (sedan, rural and handicapped people adapted) and airport taxis (sedan and minivan) on Costa Rica. Don’t worry about the taxi type when you get in, you can change it at any point during your trip and the fee will be automatically updated accordingly.
TaxiMonitor works in background mode, so you can use other apps, make phone calls or lock your device screen while TaxiMonitor keeps working.
